NUJS Library Services
Membership
Membership is granted to all faculty, staff, and
students of NUJS on submitting the
filled-in application. However,
non-attached/outside users viz., professionals,
bona fide research scholars, bona fide students
etc., who wish to make use of the Library may be
allowed to do.
External Users
Users from other institutes are permitted access
to NUJS Library collection and internet services
for short term period. They need to submit an
application along with a bona-fide letter from
their institute and a copy of their ID card for
our records. Books will not be issued. Students
of other national law schools are issued, on
written demand, Library Internship Certificates.
Lending
LL.B. students: One book at a time for a
period of 3 days and reissued once if no
reservation is pending. In case of fiction or
literature the book is reissued twice. In case a
book is returned late the card will be
confiscated for a period of three days.
LL.M. students: Three books are issued at
a time for a period of three days and reissued
once if no reservation is pending.
Faculty: Ten books are issued at a time
for a period of 7days. They are permitted to
issue bound volumes of journals for class
reference/ overnight issue. Additional books (3
text books per subject per semester) are issued
on semester mode too.
Current Awareness Service (CAS)
Intend: To apprise users of the latest
publications. Content pages (in searchable pdf
format) of latest issues of journals (print
only) will be sent by e-mail to all on weekly
basis.
CSA: Journal List
Institutional Collaborations
NUJS has an agreement with Centre for Studies in
Social Sciences, Kolkata wherein students can
visit their library for reference purposes. They
need to carry a letter from the Librarian along
with their ID card.
NUJS also has an Institutional Membership with
British Council Library and American Centre
Library. Those interested should collect the
Institutional Membership Card which is available
in the library.
Students interested in referring to NLSIU,
Bangalore library need to carry a letter from
the Librarian.
Reservation
Students can reserve one issued title at a time.
Reserved books on return will be retained for a
day. In case of multiple reservations, the title
will be passed on to the next person in queue on
the second day.

Reprography
This service is outsourced. There are four
photocopying machines available in the library.
Students can get their materials photocopied on
payment @ the rates negotiated by the
University.
Printing
Laser printing facility is available in the
Library. Students can take printouts against
payment. This service is also outsourced.
Scanning
Facility is available to students free of
charge.
Magazines & Newspapers or General Reading
NUJS subscribes many a periodicals or general
reading and 13 daily newspapers. The periodicals
are displayed at the back left side of the
Reading Rooms (

display in the Library Reading Room as well as
four locations in various floors.
