Forensic Science in Judicial Enforcement: A Way Towards Progressive Justice

        School of Forensic Sciences, The W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata organised 1st National Seminar on “Forensic Science in Judicial Enforcement: A Way Towards Progressive Justice” on dated May 06th – 07th , 2022.
More than 125 delegates from different universities and Institutions have registered for this event.
Various eminent forensic personalities of India such as Dr. C.N. Bhattacharya, former Director CFSL, Kolkata; Prof. A.K. Gupta (Retd.) IPGMER, Kolkata; Prof. Arup Mukherjee, MAKAUT; Prof. Arup Ratan Bandyopadhyay, Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta, Kolkata had graced the occasion as a chairpersons of this national seminar. Several eminent experts delivered the talks such as Dr. Harsh Sharma, Former Director, FSL, MP; Prof. Adarsh Kumar from AIIMS, New Delhi; Prof. Gyaneshwar Chaubey, BHU; Prof Rajinder Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala; Dr. Vijay K. Yadav, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi; Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Director, SIFS India, New Delhi and Dr. Diptendu Chatterjee, Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta, Kolkata as a Invited Speakers.
In Inaugural session of the seminar, Shri Pankaj Kumar Dutta, Retired Inspector General of Police was Chief Guest of the function. Prof. N.K. Chkarabarti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, NUJS, presided the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Sarfaraz Alam Khan welcomed all the participants, resource persons and invited speakers. Shri B. Badoniya, Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata underlined the current status of forensic science. Prof Chakraborty, VC, NUJS underlined the forensics as blend of science and law. He also shared his view on the existing challenges in justice delivery system. Prof Chakrabarti said that WBNUJS is first law University that have taken this initiative to start the Masters in forensic science program. Dr. Ankit Srivastava presented the motive of this seminar as well as expressed his gratitude and vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, guests and all the attendees.
Many renowned academicians, researchers and students across the country participated in this event.
