27th Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, 2022-23

We are incredibly proud to report that the NUJS team consisting of Sanyam Jha, Pallav Arora and Mitali Jain from the Class of 2025 has emerged as the Winner of the Surana and Surana India National rounds of the 27th Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, 2022-23. NUJS also won the 4th best Memorial. Additionally, Sanyam Jha won the Best Speaker in the finals award.
The team will now participate in the world rounds of The Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition to be held in person on April 13-15, 2023 at Stetson Law in Gulfport, Florida. The Stetson Moot, organized by the Institute of Biodiversity Law and Policy of Stetson University, is the world’s leading competition on global environmental law issues such as conservation and sustainability. As it is essentially an international law moot, it simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice. Judges of the competition are usually environmental law academics and experts. Teams from Europe, Ireland and UK, East Asia, Southeast Asia among others will be competing for the Finals.
This year, the competition was organized in SRM University, Sonepat in collaboration with Surana and Surana-International Attorneys. Twenty-two teams from all over India participated, with NUJS finishing at the top.
