Brief Overview of the Workshop

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was initiated in India to digitalize information about patients and create a data set about the health status of people through health apps. This is a path-breaking venture in creating transparency and also accountability for both the government and the people at large. The success of every initiative depends on its functionality among the stakeholders in this regard the patients and the hospital employees at large. General wellness of both physical and mental health is a cause of concern to unravel the success story of a nation. It is important to explore whether the use of these health apps have reduced the work pressure of hospital employees and also whether they have been able to sensitize the patients about using these apps. During the covid era and now in the post covid era, people have become more concerned and aware about health hazards. Therefore, the present study tries to unveil from the point of view of the hospital employees the implications and implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Mission in their lives as well as the lives of the patients with special reference to the east and northeastern states of India. The eastern states of India are densely populated and the northeastern states are bound by locational disadvantages. In both areas digitalization of health information can prove to be quite useful for health employees and government. The people can also get accurate information easily which they can utilize. Thus, through this study, impact of the Ayushman Bharat initiative has been assessed on the basis of the views of one of its stakeholders that is the employees in hospitals both private and government in eastern and north eastern India.
