Justice (Retd.) Jyotirmay Bhattacharya

The Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya, – Born on September 25, 1956, at village Beliachandi, in the District of 24-Parganas (South). Had his school Education at Baruipur High School, in 24-Parganas (South). Having his college Education at St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta, graduated from the University of Calcutta. Passed LL.B. from the University of Calcutta. Enrolled as an Advocate on March 30, 1983. Started practice in the Civil and Writ Jurisdictions of the high Court at Calcutta. Appointed as a permanent Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on December 3, 2003. Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court at Calcutta on October 25, 2017. Appointed as Chief justice of the High Court at Calcutta on 1st May, 2018
