M.Sc. in Forensic Science

M.Sc. in Forensic Science is an attempt to fulfil such need in India. There are ample job opportunities available for those interested in pursuing a career in forensic science and a degree in this field can provide the foundation for a successful and exciting career.

ELIGIBILTY

B.Sc. Pass/Hons. with Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Computer Science / B.Sc. LL.B. or any equivalent degree with minimum of 50% marks.

5% marks for relaxation of SC/ST candidate for eligibility.

SEAT ALLOCATION

The sanction intake strength for M.Sc. in Forensic Science is 30.

Reservation: As per the rule of the State Government/University.

Admission process–

Admission shall be strictly on ‘merit’ based. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of a Written Test of 100 marks and an Interview of 50 marks.

Medium of Instruction–

The medium of instruction shall be English.

Qualifying marks, promotion and Grading System: The minimum passing marks shall be 50% in the aggregate. The minimum pass marks 40% have to be obtained in theory, sessional, practical and dissertation individually. On the basis of percentage of total marks secured in the aggregate of all years of duration by a candidate, he/she shall be awarded a Grade, as detailed below:

DURATION: The duration for the course M. Sc. Forensic Science shall be 2 years, spread over 4 Semesters. Maximum period allowed to complete the course is 4 years.
