The Indian Society of Criminology is a pioneer organization in the field of crime research and criminology in the nation. It was established in the year 1970, with the objective that the study and application of Criminology as a scientific discipline should be implemented in a broad scale in the society. The society boasts a membership of hundreds of members, both from India and abroad, comprising of criminologists, sociologists, psychologists, politicians, advocates, judges, social workers, and academicians. By organising the various annual conferences, lectures, and other such events, the Society aims to further its objectives of effective detection and prevention of crime while engaging the society in implementing the criminological approach. The previous annual conferences had been conducted at various Universities/ Institutes of national importance, where contemporary issues in the field of criminology have been discussed by the participants with a view to bring about measurable social change. The ultimate goal of the conferences is to ensure that the legislators, policy makers, and enforcement officials can benefit from the contemporary developments of criminology, both at the state and the national levels.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), India and King’s College London, United Kingdom are pleased to launch Summer School 2024 on ‘Financial Regulations and Corporate Law’ from 18th to 29th June, 2024 at WBNUJS Campus, Kolkata,India.   • Accommodation is on twin-sharing basis, in WBNUJS Campus.
  • All participants will be expected to bear their transport costs.
  • Reading material like scholarly articles, Judgements, other necessary documents related to the course shall be distributed or emailed, as directed by the session lecturer


A formal letter of acceptance for the summer school 2024 shall be issued for the Foreign National selected students, upon completion of payment and other registration requisites.

Article : The participants shall be required to write an article, that shall illustrate the analysis of a topic, chosen by them on “Financial Regulations and Corporate Law”. The WBNUJS library access, consultation with the Faculty from both the Universities, i.e. King’s College London and The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, taking sessions in the Summer School shall also be available.

Problem Based Questionnaire : The participants shall be receiving problem-based questionnaire on the topics related to the course, that shall equip the participants with analytical, conceptual bedrock of knowledge on the topic.

Presentation : The participants shall be required present their above-mentioned article.

Class Participation and Interaction : There shall be extensive discussion and interaction in each session, in which the participants shall be expected to participate.

Mode of Attending : The summer school is held in person and no request for online/hybrid mode will be accommodated.

75% Attendance in the Summer School shall be mandatory for receiving the Summer School Completion Certificate.
