Dr. Bikramjit De


I teach legal and constitutional history to law students at the undergraduate level. Apart from my teaching responsibilities I was the coordinator of the School of Social Sciences, of the NUJS. I was a Fulbright Nehru Visiting Lecturer at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.

I completed my doctoral thesis at Wolfson College, Oxford in South Asian history on a Commonwealth Scholarship. The title of my thesis was ‘British Policy in Bengal, 1939-45’. I was an ICHR Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Historical Studies of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. I completed my M. Phil. dissertation in Indian history at CHS, JNU, New Delhi and my M.A. from the School of International Studies, JNU. My B.A. (Hons.) was completed at the Department of History, Presidency College, Calcutta.
