Dr. Sanjit Kumar Chakraborty


Dr. Sanjit Kumar Chakraborty obtained his B.A. (Law), LL.B., and LL.M. degrees from the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, and thereafter, he was awarded the University Medal in the year 2005. Following which, he qualified UGC-NET and received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Burdwan, on the research area of Intellectual Property Law of Plant and Human Rights Issues. He has several publications to his credit, including chapters in edited books and research articles in various law journals, and has participated in several international and national conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programmes. His areas of interest include Intellectual Property Law, Constitutional Law, Property Law, and Issues Related to Law, Justice, and Globalization. Dr. Chakraborty is currently employed as an Associate Professor (Law) at the University, and is the Director of the Centre for Law and Social Justice there. He is engaged with the PBCS, Ministry of Law and Justice’s Nyaybandhu Programme, as the Nodal Officer.
