ABOUT THE CENTRE

The Justice Radha Binod Pal Centre for Critical Legal Studies is a platform dedicated to the legacy of Justice Pal. His critical stance in the Tokyo trials and thecritical legal thinking that he employed to reach his conclusions is a rare moment of representation for the people of Third World and is a symbol of strength that has inspired a generation of people to stand against the idea of victor’s justice. However, critical thought of the nature that Justice Pal propounded has been marginalised due to changing narratives of legal education. In order to address this, this Centre seeks topromote critical legal studies as a super set dedicated to generate scholarship and discourse on diverse branches of critical studies, including postcolonial legal theory, post-modern theory, critical race theory, feminist legal theory, third/fourth world approaches to law and other allied branches of critical studies. Through this, the primary aim of the Centre is to bring back into light, theoretical understanding of the origins of law and the factors which influence law making.
